Why does a harbour or marina need one of these pumps?

Harbours that do not have a sewage pump ENCOURAGES people to dump their raw sewage into the water. This is very detrimental to environment in general, not to mention the local marina. Due to government regulations, within a couple of years, "all harbours" must have at least one sewage station available.

Who will operate the pump? Is the pump easy to use?

With clearly displayed instruction, the pump-out station can even be operated by a child.

What exactly is a peristaltic pump and why is it used?

The peristaltic pump is comprised of a cam like rotor located in the middle of a rubber tube. We use this type of pump because it is reliable, low maintenance, and can take sludgy material (see animation below).

Does the nozzle fit all sewage tank outlets?

Our universal tapered nozzle can accommodate nearly all standard fittings found on boats.

How long does it take to pump out the effluent sewage?

The pump operates at 35 gallons per minute; it roughly takes 1 minute to empty a typical boat's sewage tank which is around 40 gallons in size. The pumps flow rate is typically set at 35 US gallons/minute. ( L/min)

What happens if the sewage tank is only partly full and the pump starts sucking air?

The pump can run dry for hours without any damage .

Where does the waste sewage go?

Depending on the site, the sewage goes to the city sewer close to the marina, the local sewage treatment centre, or a local holding tank for pick-up by an outside source.

How high and how far can the piping from the waste source to city sewer go?

The pump has vertical suction lift of 29'. The discharge capacity is over 1000' horizontal with a discharge head of 67' vertical. 

How long will it take you to install the pumping system?

Typically it'll take us 8 hours to get a system installed and running.

What kind of special power arrangement is needed for this pump?

The pump setup can take 208 V 3 phase or 240 V single phase. We do the installation based on what power is available at the harbour.

How much is this going to cost?

The system, the piping, and labour for the installation is typically around $17,000 cdn before taxes.

Who does the installation and what kind of maintenance is needed and done by whom?

Inner Harbour Technologies will perform both installation and maintenance. The system is very low maintenance.

Is there a warranty?

There is a 2 year parts and labour warranty.

When can I get one installed and what are the terms?

Once we looked over your harbour facilities, we need a 50% down payment and 50% on delivery. It'll take about 6-8 weeks to deliver.
